Fluid lubricants that solidify during use can enhance the power output of traction drives while extending their useful lives. These lubricants extend the life of industrial gearless Planetroll type systems and are the choice lubricants for the new generation automotive transmission systems where continuously variable transmission (CVT) are used.
Traction Lubricants are synthetic hydrocarbon fluids that become solid under high stress and high shear. They are liquid beyond the contact area, which makes them useful in traction type drives. These products have high coefficient of traction (ratio of transmitted force to contact force) and molecular stability to resists high shear, high speeds, and pressures, while maintaining the integrity of the film between the stressed metal surfaces. Santotrac lubricants undergo unusually high transitory viscosity-increase under high pressures. It has been demonstrated that contact pressures of 700,000 PSI have not succeeded in destroying the integrity of the film between metal-to-metal rolling surfaces. Santotrac lubricants are produced in a range of viscosity grades, wide enough to enable the user to select the most suitable viscosity for a particular operating condition and application. All grades offer stability at high temperature, high coefficient of traction and good lubricating performance.

1. SANTOTRAC 32 Traction Lubricant
Santotrac 32 is a low viscosity industrial traction lubricant. It has high traction coefficient and is thermally stable.

Santotrac greases are high traction, high temperature greases with excellent thermal and mechanical stability.
