July 1, 2010; Spartanburg, SC. Santolubes is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Thomas R. Forbus, PhD, to the position of President of the Lubricants Division. Dr. Forbus comes to Santolubes with 29 years of experience in his three decade lubricants career in the Petroleum Industry with Mobil, ExxonMobil and Ashland. In his career, Dr. Forbus’ focus has been on elastohydrodynamic traction transmission technology and the unique fluids technologies that will make these emerging transmission technologies successful in the marketplace. He will continue to support those efforts worldwide in this new position with Santolubes.
Dr. Forbus holds 25 US patents and an array of International patents on lubricant base oil processing, lubricant base oil technologies, lubricant additives technology and lubricant products formulation technology. He is also the author of 14 technical publications.
Santolubes is a $40 million specialty chemical company focused on 3 markets—Lubricants, Pesticides, and Contract Chemical Manufacturing.
